Etihad Airways is the National Airline of the United Arab Emirates. It started its commercial operations in November 2003. “Etihad” is the Arabic word for “union”. It’s fleet of 66 aircraft operates more than 1000 flights per week, serving an international network of 84 passenger and cargo destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and North America. Etihad Airways also owns at about 30 percent of airberlin, Europe’s sixth largest carrier and 40 percent of Air Seychelles. 

Hand baggage

Carry-on baggage quantity per one passenger is depended on travel class of the passenger. Passengers have following baggage allowance:

Diamond First Class

2 bags, total of 12kg, each item must not exceed maximum total dimensions of 115 cm (for example, 60 x 35 x 20)

Pearl Business Class

2 bags, total of 12kg, each item must not exceed maximum total dimensions of 115 cm (for example, 60 x 35 x 20)

Coral Economy Class

1 bag, total of 7kg, each item must not exceed maximum total dimensions of 115 cm (for example, 60 x 35 x 20)

The following are classified as carry-on items, and can be taken on the flight in addition to carry-on luggage:

• Handbag, pocket book or purse
• Overcoat, wrap or blanket
• Umbrella or walking stick
• Small camera and / or binoculars
• A reasonable amount of reading matter for the flight
• Collapsible wheelchair / crutches
• Braces or prosthetic devices (provided the guest is dependent on them)
• Briefcase or portable PC which is not being used as a container for transportation of articles, regarded as baggage — exception: laptop - not to be activated without flight crew knowledge / concurrence
• Mobile phone — exception: not to be utilized during fligh

Checked baggage

Baggage allowance for all Etihad flights except those traveling to and from the US or Canada:

Diamond First Class

Bags with a total not exceeding 50kg. Each item must not exceed 32kg, and the dimensions
45cm x 72cm x 90cm

Pearl Business Class

Bags with a total not exceeding 40kg. Items must not exceed the dimensions 45cm x 72cm x 90cm

Coral Economy Class

Bags with a total not exceeding 23kg. Items must not exceed the dimensions 45cm x 72cm x 90cm

Infants (in any class of travel)

23 kg - including carry cot/car seat and all other accessories Items must not exceed the dimensions 45cm x 72cm x 90cm

For travelling in to Canada and USA:

Diamond First Class

2 bags with a total not exceeding 64 kg. Each item must not exceed 32kg, and the dimensions of
158 cm.

Pearl Business Class

2 bags with a total not exceeding 64 kg. Each item must not exceed 32kg and the dimensions  of 158 cm.

Coral Economy Class

2 bags in total not exceeding 46 kg. Each item must not exceed 23 kg and  the dimensions 45cm x 72cm x 90cm

Infants (in any class of travel)

One bag, not exceeding 23 kg and maximum total dimensions of 158b cm.

Check-in for Etihad Airways Flights

Passengers could make city check-in in 24 hours in advance in Abu Dhabi or Dubai. Web check- in opens 24 hours before flight departure time. Passengers can check in online anytime between then and 2 hours before the schedule flight departure time.
