The Qantas Group's main activity is customers’ transportation by 2 airline brands - Qantas and Jetstar. This airline offers regional, domestic and international services and employs 35,700 people.

Hand Baggage

For Australian Domestic flights passengers are allowed to take:

• 2 bags x 105cm or
• 1 bag  x 105cm and 1 garment bag x 185cm or
• 1  bag x 115cm  

For all International flights:

First/Business/Premium Economy class: 

• 2 bags x 115cm or
• 1 bag x 115cm and 1 garment bag x 185cm

Economy:

• 1 bag x 115cm or
• 1 garment bag x 185cm

The maximum weight – 7 kg per piece.

Checked Baggage

For Domestic flights within Australia passengers could take:

Economy - 1 bag up to 23kg; Business -  2 pieces up to 32kg each; Qantas Club members and Silver Frequent Flyers Economy - 1 piece up to 32 kg, Business - 2 pieces up to 32kg each; Gold Frequent Flyers - 2 pieces up to 32kg each; Platinum Frequent Flyers - 2 pieces up to 32kg each. Total dimensions of each bag should not exceed 140cm.

For International flights to/from the Americas:

Economy/Premium Economy - 2 pieces up to 23kg  per each; Business/First 3 pieces up to 32 kg per each; Qantas Club members, Silver and Gold Frequent Flyers Economy/Premium Economy - 3 pieces up to 23kg per each, Business/First - 3 pieces up to 32kg per each;  Platinum Frequent Flyers Economy/Premium Economy - 3 pieces up to 32kg per each, Business/First - 3 pieces up to 32kg per each.

For International fights to/from other destinations:

Economy – 1 bag up to 23kg; Premium Economy - 2 bags up to 23 kg per each; Business - 3 pieces up to 32kg per each; First -  3 bags up to 32kg per each; Qantas Club members and Silver Frequent Flyers - 2 pieces up to 23kg per each in Economy, 3 pieces up to 23kg per each in Premium Economy, 3 pieces up to 32kg per each in Business/First; Gold Frequent Flyers - 2 pieces up to 32kg per each in Economy, 3 pieces up to 23kg per each in Premium Economy, 3 pieces up to 32kg per each in Business/First; Platinum Frequent Flyers - 3 pieces up to 32kg per each.

Check-in for Qantas flights

Passengers could check-in:

• On-line. Check-in on-line is available from 24 hours up to 1 hour before flight departure (for domestic flights) and up to 2 hours before flight departure (for international flights)
• Using mobile phone (only for domestic flights). Check-in from 24 hours up until 45 minutes before flight departure
• At the airport counter or Check-in kiosks. Check-in is open from 3 hours and closes from 30-60 minutes (domestic flights) or 30-90 minutes (international flights) before departure accordingly to the airport or destination.
