Sofia is a city at the foot of Vitosha in the west of Bulgaria. The capital and the main political, economic and cultural center. In the 29th century  Romans occupied the Thracian city of Serdika (Serdica). In the 441st city was destroyed by the Huns. Byzantine Emperor Justinian restored the city and named Triadica. In 809th Bulgarians took the city and renamed - Sredeca. In 1376th it was known as Sofia (Greek - wisdom). In 1879, it became the capital of Bulgaria.
